Adaptation of road infrastructure to climate change

Project 8
Development of climate impact models and design parameters for bridge and tunnel constructions based on climate forecasts
Source: La-Liana / pixelio.de

Description

The pilot project „Climate-related impacts on existing concrete bridge constructions" came to the result that adaptation measures are necessary, in particular in the case of frame bridges of pre-stressed concrete constructed before 1981. The project „Further development of climate impact models and design parameters for bridge and tunnel constructions based on climate forecasts” aims at the ascertaining of site-related and gauging relevant climate parameters to generate a realistic image of climate impacts on constructions in regions heavily affected by climate change.

The methodology and results of this research project will soon be published here.
